It’s almost my favorite time of year! That’s right, Chattanooga Film Fest 2025 is nearly upon us, which means it’s time for us cinephiles to go to our version of summer camp! Given my love of gastro horror, I couldn’t let this pass without telling you which gastro features and shorts were playing, but instead of focusing on just horror, I’m going to also share the non-horror ones as well! There is a fair amount this year, so I’d better get started!

  • Baking and Entering It is a peaceful day in the woods as food truck owner Hugh prepares for another day of work selling pies. As he puts a pie in to bake, he is surprised by the presence of a looming grizzly bear. Hugh must do everything he can to prevent his unconventional customer from destroying his pie-velihood.
  • Beef Creek Withered occultist Mr. Petrulo runs a New York-style deli in middle of nowhere Wyoming with his team of misfit deli warriors — Horace, Sandra, and Lily — as well as useless manchild Ralphie. In the pilot, Ralphie falls into a pocket dimension inside the deli’s dumpster and is seduced by a trash-dwelling succubus who lures in “white male saviors” and steals their souls. It’s up to Horace to rush in and save him — but he himself has a checkered past with the succubus, and when his wife Sandra discovers that Horace ventured into the dumpster, she recruits Lily to go with her to dole out her righteous vengeance.
  • Bloody Marian A bartender with a bit of an attitude comes face to face with a ghastly challenge, a customer whose thirst cannot seem to be quenched.
  • Chain Reactions (presented by MPI Media Group)- An exploration of the legacy of Tobe Hooper’s classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. (Note: this is in-person only)
  • Check Please Dinner for two turns deadly when a Korean and a Korean-American fight for the restaurant’s check — and their honor — in this zany martial arts comedy.
  • Endzgiving This is gonna be Will’s last Friendsgiving.
  • Feed When a baby alien crashes into their lives, Rachel and Nick do their best to maintain a sense of normalcy—until a dinner party threatens to unravel it all. With every bite, their carefully constructed facade begins to crack.
  • House of Ashes Still reeling from a miscarriage, Mia grieves her husband Adam, who was found dead at the veterinary clinic they owned. She’s been acquitted of Adam’s death, but is under public scrutiny and must serve a house arrest sentence due to living in a state where miscarriage carries heavy punishment. Enter Marc, an old friend who loves and protects Mia. Not long after he moves in, the new couple endure challenges: things go missing, and they’re attacked by an unseen force. Mia is sure that the culprit is a supernatural entity, but Marc’s convinced that humans are the problem. A security expert by trade, he installs a home surveillance system to help keep them safe, but soon finds out that this is an issue he can’t fix. Under all these pressures, Mia must call on her buried strength to move on with her life — or risk death herself.
  • Meeet In this dark horror comedy, six eccentric and disturbed yet interesting characters suffer from starvation in a bomb shelter. When one of them seemingly dies, the rest decides to “partially” eat her corpse. But an unexpected hindrance thwarts their meal, which is then followed by a serving of poetic justice.

    Terroir

    Terroir

  • Supper A dysfunctional family sits down to kick their brother out of the family through a new legal process known as familial emancipation, only to begin arguing about who their father’s favorite child is. As secrets are revealed, things take a turn for the tragic and violent.
  • Terroir A young wine critic returns to a French vineyard one year after giving it a bad review. There, she and her friends become the target of a masked killer.
